Child Care
Improvement Project (CCIP)
The Child Care Improvement Project (CCIP) is a program for family child care providers who are committed to offering high quality child care and for parents needing child care referrals in the Portland area.
Over 100 providers who are caring for over 700
children participate in the CCIP in the following areas:
North Portland, Northeast Portland, Southeast Portland, Southwest Portland, and
Gresham/Troutdale
Mission:
The Child Care Improvement Project is a system of community-based networks
of family child care providers joined together to promote high quality child
care, build and sustain economic success, and partner with parents to support
children in achieving their full potential.
Vision:
CCIP envisions:
• Increasing the number of quality child care providers through the provision
of support to operate successful businesses and increase earnings from child
care, master effective child development strategies, and strengthen connections
to parents and communities.
Increasing the percentage of children whose child care experiences prepare them
to achieve their full potential through readiness for school.
• Increasing the number of parents who build strong partnerships with their
child care providers, which enable them to work with confidence and security.
• Development of effective child care public policy at the state and local
level which supports parents ability to maintain employment, children's ability
to achieve their full potential, and retention of quality child care providers.
